I just bought 4 (160# total) suitcase weights for my Ym2000. What's the best way to hold them on the bumper without them sliding off. My baling wire keeps breaking.

The factory set-up on the 186 is a rod with 2 hair pin clips that passes through tabs on the side frame behind the bumper. There is an ear on the rear of the weight that the rod passes over and the rod prevents the weights from lifting up.

Where's a good place to buy suitcase weights? I'm looking for some for a 1401d.
Thanks

The problem I have found is that suitcase weights are usually unreasonably expensive. The Yanmar dealers sell them and the JD dealers too. I have seen piles of them at the tractor junk yard. Some folks have found that weight lifting weights are cheaper but you have to fabricate something to hang them on. There have been some other interesting ideas posted here like ammo boxes full of lead tire weights and pipes full of cement.
