This is actually from last summer at Lake Conroe, TX. Heard a blurb on the news, but a buddy sent me these to put it into perspective.

Been there a few times and fished, boating and swimming were part of my visit....now...hmmmm. Never heard if they caught the critter either. I'am thinking that the deer is probably 5' from nose to hip....what's that make the gator??

A different angle....little closer shot.

Maybe some of you have seen or heard about this...but I don't remember reading about it on any of the forums. The shark attack stories remind me that fresh water is not necessarily safe either.

Regards, Mark

That is the really wild! I've never imagined anything like it. Heck, I get a kick out of watching the Redtails pluck chipmunks out of the woods. Seeing an Alligator grab a deer would be something!

Thanks for sharing the pics. I copied them and will send them to some friends.

/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif So says you! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I've seen these giant lizards all the way up in Macon. One in the city landfill was 16' from nose to tail. He was bold too. Sat up on a bank out in the open sunning himself. He was eventually shot because he was percieved as a safety hazard to the city landfill employees.

I don't particularly care for a creature that could eat me, a family member or pet. These animals are quite prolific and the population is increasing rapidly. If you shoot a nuisance alligator, the authorities will prosecute you faster than if you shot your neighbor. There's something wrong with that picture.

That is because politicians are related to the nuisance alligators.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
