So I have a Stihl MS261, pretty new, maybe 10 hours of use or less. I used it last week some to clean up storm damage, temp in the 80’s and humid, and it ran fine. Yesterday I used it again and it didn’t want to come off idle when it was warmed up. Temp in the 90’s and humid. I got by with it but today I realized the little summer/winter door was flipped to winter, which brings hot air to the carb. Is this enough to make it not run right? It’s always started and ran fine until yesterday and I don’t like cutting wood when it’s hot out so it will be a rare thing.

I think the door's supposed to be switched at 50 degrees. In the '90s I could see that making the jetting too rich to rev out and making the engine run hot too.

I don't often work with the saws when it's below 40 (because it's not often below 40 here at the time of day when I'm working outside) so I leave mine in the summer position all the time.
