Hi Chris,
I think we all can relate to your "situation". We've all been there at one time or another.
I just wanted to comment that we folks in the midwest may have the cool weather for a good part of the winter, but it doesn't mean we're exempt from the kind of condition you've acquired . When I was in high school, a bunch of us went skiing on a day when we were off from school. It wasn't particularly cold or warm that day - probably in the mid teens with not much wind and a lot of sun. Well, back then I was full of pi_ _ and vinegar, and I thought it was the macho thing to do to stay out all day skiing. The only problem is, I wasn't wearing any sunglasses or goggles and I got my eyes sunburned from the reflection off of the snow. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I didn't even realize how bad it was until I got home. I knew my eyes were kind of scratchy, like when you get some beach sand in them. But when I walked in the door my mother almost fell over dead away. The next thing I know she's taking me to the emergency room. When the doctor started examining me, he asked if I had looked in a mirror at all. I said no, and he said I'd better do it before he covered up my eyes. I looked and the whites of my eyes were almost PURPLE! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif He promptly bandaged both eyes and said I had to wear the bandages for 24 hours, then I had to wear these super dark glasses he gave me for a few days after that. And boy, did my eyes HURT ! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
You can bet that I never go outside without eye protection anymore. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
So you see, just cause it's a little cooler doesn't necessarily mean we're any safer. Of course, if we REALLY look at both of our situations, we have to admit that we were both guilty of Operator Head Space and Timing! Right? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Hope you feel better in the next few days! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
