Since the oil has to get thru the crank journals and pressurize the crank to get to the rods, the rods usually starve first if the oil level is neglected. I would have pulled the other rod cap to inspect it. With just one bearing toasted, I also probably would have pressurized the oil gallery with oil while I rolled the crank and insured I had good oil flow to all the crank and rod journals... Might also be a good idea to put a working pressure gauge on it to check and see what kind of pressure it is actually building...
