Great, more stuff to encourage people to overload their pickups, as if there aren't enough overloaded vehicles on the road already. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
720# for the deck, plus the weight of the tractor is going to overload most any pickup, except for a 1 ton. Add to that the fact that you are lifting the center of the load significantly above the pickup bed floor (in the case of a tractor), and you've got a nice, unstable, hauling condition for the majority of pickup owners.
There's no way I'd haul a
BX23 in my 8' pickup bed, even though my particular 3/4 ton has the exact same spring pack, brakes, engine, & transmission as the single rear wheel 1 ton - mine is essentially a 1 ton. I would haul that load in a 1 ton dually bed because of the more stable side-to-side platform that a dually provides.
Have I ever hauled over 2000# of material in my pickup bed? Yes, but its been loads of sand or stone that does not come anywhere near reaching the top of the bed rails, over short distances, on backroads. Put a "superdeck" in your bed with a tractor on top of that, and darn near the entire tractor (from the bottom of the rims, up) is sitting above the top of the bedrails - it's right there in the pictures.
Anyway, anyone that's gonna load a 2000# plus tractor on top of their pickup bedrails (essentially) and get out on our roads, how about warning us all in advance, so we can steer clear of you. I wonder how many cops across this country would let you pass by seeing a tractor in a pickup like we see in those wonderful marketing pictures.
