Super Trax Mulchers

Yes, I've Demoed A Supertrak Sk 140 for 10 hours i was very impressed with the unit until my CAT Salesman told me the price. For wat they want for the Sk 140, i would buy a fecon 148l. The Sk140 is a cat 297 frame extended out to cram a 140hp motor in, the fecon 148l has a big enough engine bay to stick a bigger motor in plenty of room to work on an easier to keep clean. The sk 140 has to many nooks an crannies for debris to build up in an hard to reach. Trust me u don't want to spend take kind of money on a Skid steer an this happen.

Now the bigger Supertrak units are Good Machines I would just stay away from the skid steer Models.

Don't buy one.

Anyone had any problems with the turbos on the sk 140?

We are running 2 supertrak machines and feel they are built very well. We have there takeuchi tl150 that they put high flow on, winch, big radiator and hyd cooler. We have put a bunch of hours on this machine. The other is a sk120 and it has around 5500 hrs on it. The CAT/ASV undercairrage is junk, it will nickel and dime. The cab is not great, but the performance is awesome on it.

I have nothing but good things to say about supertrak and there people...they have a really good service manager that has helped me figure out problems we have had....i have #2 sk120 so they have updated them a bunch since mine.

They are very pricey for what they are though!!!

Tonnyoz we ran a SK250 a few years back. It had a BH80 head on it. The SK250 is built on a cat 320 excavator. It did not have power pack so it seemed like it was lacking in power to the head which was making recovery time seem to last forever. I think the newer models have a dedicated power pack and I'm sure they have made vast improvements since we had that machine. The service that Supertrak provides is great. They even came out on a sunday to work out a bug with the motor. If your interested in a demo contact Tom King with supertrak. He's a great guy to deal with.

I am just curious is I thought they up powered and repumped them. I have operated a 25ton excavator with a FAE head which I thought was disapointing considering the size of the machine. When I got home I looked up the hydraulic specs and found the flow and pressure to the head wasn't any better than a RC 100 posi

MOST Supertrak equipment has been modified some way or another. The only one I can think of is that was not was a Takeuichi the TL-150 based machine, they reworked the cooling and it was a tough little machine. The SK-250 should have been a Cat 320 with a higher HP engine. They came with a 138hp engine, as the call name indicates is a 250hp unit. There flows, pressures, and cooling are top notch. So I am sure the machine was making the power. Usually what you find is a poorly matched head/hyd motor combimation. The only draw back to the Supertrak excavators is with all that custom work comes price and extra weight. If i were mulching again i would not hesitate to purchase one.
