Hey All,

I have a question please. Just got all the oils and filters for my 50 hr service on Kubota RTV900. All the filters have sealed openings along with the engine oil 10W-30. Then I get to the super udt 2.5 container and there is NO seal. What's up with this? I called my dealer part dept and they said they don't come with seals. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I check the six 1 gallon jugs that I have. They all have a seal. Interesting that 2 1/2 gallon containers would not have a seal. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

This does not make any sense at all. Why would a 1 gal jug have a seal and a 2.5 not? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I called a couple other dealers and they all said the same thing... NO seal and they don't know why. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

All the Kubota dealers are purchasing empty 2.5 gallon plastic jugs and are disposing of all their used fluids by putting it into these jugs and selling it to the unsuspecting public. The best way to get rid of the hazardous waste is to sell it to Kubota owners that want to do their own services to save a buck. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yup, I've not seen a seal on the 2.5 gal. UDT or Super UDT containers I've bought.

/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif That is not exactly what I was thinking but... Yup that's what it is they do all the 50 hrs maintenance for their customers and drain the fluid right into these empty 2.5's. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My problem with this is why take the effort and have all the filters and 1gals sealed so NO foreign matter gets in. And then figure nah why put one on a 2.5. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I've always been under the impression that hydraulic and transmission system need to be super clean. Probably am wrong but why is it that you normally get hydraulic filters (smaller micron) sealed and engine oil filters are left open (not with Kubota but other brands)? Man this bothers the heck out of me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Probably shouldn't.... but come on Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Same here, just bought a 2.5 gal super UDT that had no seal. I asked the guy at the parts counter and he told me that none of the 2.5 gal containers were sealed.
