A while back, I changed the hydrostat oil and filter, and cleaned the screen. I used the TSC Traveller Premium hydro oil and Wix filter. Here's the rub, since the change, I notice that the loader is not as strong and the tractor doesn't pull as hard as before. Is this imagination, why would the fluid make a difference in the pressure relief valve? Is the filter possibly the culprit, being too restrictive? Anyone else experienced this? Dealer doesn't stock Super UDT so he ordered some, waiting for it to come in, also going to use Kubota filter.

I just recently went to a dealer sponsered owners night at the dealership and that was discussed. Kubota blends its own oil and hydro fluid especially for its tractors. It's consistency and blend is produced just for Kubota. So it is possible that maybe the other fluid is thicker or of a different consistancy than Kubtoa's. I would recomend you go back to Kubtoa's fluids and fliters. My tractor just got it's 50 hrs service and I can't wait to pick it up.

I didn't think there was anything to it but marketing hype, but one of my local Kubota dealers has a sign up by the parts counter warning that some non-Kubota filters have been attributed to flow restriction issues....

Hey guys,

Look in this forum back a couple days to the thread named "Kubota Super UDT Hydraulic Fluid Specs".
It was pretty well discussed there. I use UDT myself.

HEY! HEY! HEY! got the Kubota filter and Super UDT installed, cleaned the screen again and used a magnet to clean out the case. Tractor is back to normal, I'm a happy guy. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Glad to hear you're up and running. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
A confirmation that using UDT does make a difference. I've learned my lesson through you that my Kubota won't be seeing anything but it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I used TSC Premium UDT and a Wix filter at 50 hours and experienced reduced FEL and BH power and response. Also had the BH "leak down" to the ground overnight, which it had not done before. It's not my imagination, and I know what to do at the next change (Super UDT!). /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I was looking back through some of the old posts and I believe you were the first to post on this subject. I couldn't remember where it was, but when I read it I thought that it must be just your imagination. After I switched, for a while, I thought it was also just my imagination till I started moving a pile of rocks, couldn't even lift a bucket full. I'm glad I switched back, the extra $$$ is money well spent here. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
