Priced the Super UDT at $40.00 a jug, is there a cheaper place to get it, or is any brand as good plus cheaper?

NH's fluid is $18.00 a jug.

what ia a "jug"? It looks to me to be like the 2.5 gallon jug?

sparkkky,

What are you going to put it in? People that have used something other than the Super UDT in the Kubota RTV, have found performance problems. When they switched back, the issues went away.

Anyother fluid that passed Kubota UDT is 100% fine.

I have read a couple of posts where folks used something else and had to change it back out with the Super UDT because the other didn't work right.

Personally, with my $12K tractor I am going to use the Kubota filters and fluids. Why take a chance just to save $20?

Try pricing it by the 5 gallon bucket. The dealers near me Ann Arbor/Detroit charge between $63 and $75 for the 5 gallons.

The Super UDT is a synthetic oil. It will be more slippery at lower temperatures when compared to regular Kubota UDT oil. Kubota machines have been known to be slightly fussy about the hydraulic and gear oil used in them. The Super UDT works real well. I use it and recommed following the recommendations stated in the owners manual.

Just like people; all machines are not designed or created equal.

I had followed the advice of my former "dealer" and used regular fluid - never again.
The Super UDT gives me more power both to the ground and to the FEL.
What is the dealer qualification requirement anyhow - a handful of cash and a substantial intial order?
These guys were such idiots, I can't tell what the qualifications are.
Examples of their bad advice:
"Don't baby this thing, run it at full speed for everything"
(contrary to the manual's advice on break in procedures)
"We don't even carry Super UDT, just use regular hydro fluid"
(also contrary to the manual specs, and even a warranty voiding activity)
"Teeth for your FEL? Never heard of that"
(best darn money I've spent was on a toothbar)

When they delivered my tractor, they started it up cold, immediately revved it up to full speed, and backed it off the trailer. (I always let it warm up before doing anything)
They also mounted the MMM, and didn't both to connect the drive shaft for it. (minor but still stupid).
The tiller came in about a month later. They delivered it, and neglected to cut the PTO shaft, so they had to come out again.
Just a bunch of stupid stuff that I would not expect from a Kubota dealer.

I now have found a very competent dealer, and am very satisfied with their work, and work ethic. Thankfully.

When it was time to change the fluid in my new B21 it was the same story - dealer(s) didn’t carry Super UDT but we use this stuff (see attachment).

If Super UDT was that important is seems like Kubota would make the dealers recommend it and/or have it in stock. Most other manufacturers always have the dealers stock and push the their products.

Anyway, after 300 hours using the dealer “stuff” my B21 appears to be working just fine. Other than some subjective statements I haven’t heard of anyone complaining about non-Kubota fluids causing any real problems.

Oh yeah, $29.50/5-gal.
