Anyone know if the supersteer axle is compatible with the front quick connect blower setup? Most of the pictures online show SS tractors with a bolt on front blade, and not with the front quick connect setup that is shown with the blowers/quick connect front blades/brushes. The quick connect looks too wide, for when the axle/tire on the SS rotates to the front of the tractor. The frame on the bolt on blade looks a lot narrower. I took a cruise up to my dealer today, but forgot to ask him about it.

Thanks for the info. I am starting the long process of thinking about a new tractor. Probably a lot will chainge on them by the time I pull the trigger, but lots of info to absorb in the meantime.

Hi Jerry

I just bought a TC45DA with supersteer
you can get/add a blower with no issues i just did a hole lot of research on it and am currently awaiting the arrival of my new 72 CSH blower? :D (you need a different sub frame with supersteer)

Let me know if you need any help?

Thanks. I am just look seeing now. Not in a big hurry to pull money out of the bank that I might need to live on later. I am just trying to stay up on what is availible if I get the itch. I am only 60, and have no problem with my rear blower non-cab'd 2240, but someday want to get me something newer with a soft cab, and either a front blower or Erskine front blower. My tractor is just a little under 5700 hours, and still runs great.

Hi Guys. I can confirm as well that the front 72CSH snowblower works with the sub-frame quick attach on a cabbed TC45DA tractor with super steer. I ran this set up last year with no issues and the front mounted snowblower is awesome! Looks like snow is on the horizon for us here in MN, so i'm taking my front end loader off this weekend and getting the snowblower installed so I'm all set for the white stuff. Let us know if you have any questions.

Questions.......... 45DA'ers

1- What engine RPM do you have to run for your 2000RPM mid PTO speed. [my JD2240 runs the rear PTO @ 540RPM @ an engine RPM of 2100]????

2- Most front blowers have a chain reduction setup to lower the Mid PTO RPM, so the front blower impeller is not running @ 2000RPM. Do you have any idea what the impeller RPM for the 72" is??

Ask for questions, and you will receive............... [[ Thanks !!! ]]

JerryK-I recall one of your posts where you've made 12"x12" shoes for your snowblower to aid in floation so the blower doesn't sink into the unfrozen gravel driveway.I'm running a pipe on my front snowblower, but it could be better.Any chance you could post pictures?Or even stop by your place to have a look? You might be on to something with your pad set-up:might be just what I need!Thank you in advance.

I just welded 12" square 1/2" steel plate under the factory skids on my Canadian JRW blower. I have an mostly unimproved [grass covered] 400 foot drive, and the big pads keep the blower from digging in some when the drive is still not frozen. The pads keep the cutting edge on the blower about 1/2" off the ground, and are big enough to support the large blower. I basically build up a few inches of hard packed snow/ice early in the season, and have no problem digging in after that. I run a small tractor [20hp JD420] with a homebuilt boxblade setup [with pipe on bottom cutting edge] for the little snows, and push the snow the whole lenght of the drive to pile it up. I use the boxblade to shove slush/snow off the drive in the spring when the hardpack I had built up is starting to get mushy. And when the snow goes, I am back to the grass drive with little or no torn up spots. Works for me. I sent you a email, if you want to look see at my pads.

Here are a few pics of my setup. We had some decent snow last year and it worked very well. The blower is a NewHolland 72CSH with hydraulic chute rotation and deflection. Let me know if you have any questions.

1) NH recommends that you run the tractor at WOT (approx. 2850RPM) when blowing slushy/wet snow to minimize the risk of clogging the chute. I have taken that advice when blowing heavy snow and have never had the chute clog. It will even blow slush fairly well if you desire. In the lighter snows I'll bring the RPMs down to the 2300 to 2500 range and it will do just fine as well. I'll have to get some action shots this winter and post them...it can really blow the snow a loooong ways and it's fun. I can never get enough seat time blowing snow. Of course the cab helps that out quite a bit.

2) I went through the manual and don't see any reference to the RPM on the front blower. Only thing I can say is that it's fast enough to easily blow snow 40 to 50'.
