I need to replace a grease seal on my 33DX. This seal is at the front of the long shaft that connects the supersteer. This shaft is only on SS models. I don't know the part number and the dealers don't seem to know either. They ordered the part twice and it came back with something totally different. Sorry I don't have more details but I do need the part any ideas.

Sounds like you are describing the rod the connects the front end to the tractor frame. If you are talking about the driveshaft please correct me. A careful look at both ends of the rod will show a dust boot covering the ball joint at each end. I'll bet that the dust boot looks just like the ones on your tie rod ends only bigger. From your post, it sounds like the dust boot is either split or missing. I just put new ball joints on my 1 ton truck and I think that the dust boots are about the same size. These boots are not uncommon but I'm not sure where you can buy them as a separate part. New dust boots are usually included with a ball joint or tie rod end. You may also be able to make a boot out of some flexible hose and some hose clamps. The function of the boot is to help keep contaminants out of the joint. You can operate indefinitely without the boot. Grease the joint more often. Putting new grease in through the grease fitting forces old-contaminated grease out the other side.
