Doesn't the SS option require a different loader than the non-SS models?
One that has less lift capacity due to the lift arms being longer? Not sure how significant this may be...

yes the loader sticks out farther in the front to clear the axle.....

ive had more than one dealer tell me that they have had nursery type customers buy CUT's with SS... but usually complain that the FEL WAYYYYYYYY out front really negates any advantage the SS gives you....

(that is with the FEL on)

QUOTE=Robert_in_NY]When did Kubota start using Supersteer and on what models? Supersteer is a Ford/NH thing as as far as I know only Ford/NH tractors have the rights to use it.[/QUOTE]

the original supersteer is availible on the versitile line of tractors built in manitoba . buhler.com

Yes, Buhler has an agreement with New Holland to keep using the Supersteer option on the Buhler Genesis tractors. It was arranged when Buhler bought the Versatile and Genesis lines during the Case-IH/New Holland merger.

The new line of loaders for the TC40 and TC45 (250TL for non-SS, 260TL for SS) do have different lengths, but the SS FEL is only four inches longer than the non-SS model.

Really don't understand their complaint. The FEL does feel like it is out there but it's all perception. Having not used a non-SS tractor difficult to say what their issue is. I for one do not feel that the FEL is W A YY y y out. In fact I have yet to here another TBN owner with SS say they do not like it. Definitely something you have to get used to with the bucket going in opposite direction when turning at a standstill or moving slowly. However, I use this to my advantage. I can line the bucket up for loading / unloading within a fraction of an inch & not having to move the tractor what-so-ever.

It's really a beautiful thing !! Would I pay a couple of grand extra for it if I bought new......no. But I sure am glad I have it. It makes a big difference when trying to move in tight corners for a relatively large tractor when compared to say a TC29DA or smaller.

I like supersteer but if you are working close to trees and other items I would not want a loader on it unless you have a good operator running the machine. A nursery most likely has employees who are drivers, not operators. So the loader sticking out even a few inches more coupled with the Supersteer loader experience will lead to a lot of damaged trees and plants and possibly buildings and equipment.

I considered Supersteer, but could not convince myself that the mechanism would be durable if there was a lot of loader work over the life of the tractor. SS only adds a few hundred lb to the tractor, and the tractor is slightly longer which weighs something too.

I think NH used to have SS on the TN70 and they don't anymore, now one has to pay the extra dollars for the TN75 plus the SS (for the TN series, SS seems more common on the CUT series seems like).
I think the supersteer used on the compacts is the same design as used on the bigger agricultural tractor line.

Many of them have laoders and I don't think they have many problems associated with SS.

Super Steer is built strongly, or it would not be successfull. They've been building tractors with it for the last 20 years.

SuperSteer first came out on the NH 70 series in 1993, 14 years ago.

TM's and genesis were fantastic with SS but bushings were prone to wear and for loaders standard axles were preferred .
