My Mom used to say "Never take a hoe into the house; it's bad luck". I to this day avoid that like the plague, although I really have no incentive to do such a thing.

I think is one thats origin actually has some verifiable history...the "3" part has carried on into other areas like celebrity deaths, airplane crashes, bad things etc...

Some professions seem to have more than others...commercial fishermen tend to have a lot of different ones...one of the stupidest ever is about not allowing bananas on board...

I think a lot of superstitions are based on creeds or Karma of which the latter I believe in...

Nah... just change/sing the lyric "There's a bad moon on the rise." to "There's a bathroom on the right." and you'll be fine.

My Grandmaw would almost knock you out if your cane fishing pole crossed hers while fishing (bad luck). My dad took all five children when we had chicken pox and made us to lie down in front of the chicken coop. he then run the chickens out of the coop over our backs, to this day i do not know why. You did not question my parents or grandparents, a sure way to leave this life abruptly.

I致e got a live version of Fogerty singing Bad Moon Rising and one refrain I知 almost certain he sings 典here is a bathroom on the right? Drives me crazy listening for it trying to hear bad moon rising. Thanks for the laugh.
