I finally ran our Denis Cimaf 180D on my 120 for a full day today. Man this thing is awesome. No comparision to the fecon with chippers. I was cutting 10-12inch chinaberry trees like the fecon cuts 4-6inch underbrush. The 6ft cut also makes for a much nicer day since it cuts out enough for the tracks. I can mow going foward and mulch running in reverse once and get the same sized finished product as the fecon running at least 2 passes if not 3.

We have been running cimaf low flow head on our supertrak Takeuchi for 4 months now. That is a bad little dude also. It fits the takeuchi great. That head is a good 600-750lbs lighter then the fecon or 180d we have, so it makes up for the takeuchi being very front heavy.

Yea, i had a fae head bout a year got rid of it bout six months ago for a cimaf 180D it's no comparison, their not lyin when they say it will out cut anything eles on the market. I don't have any problems with logs gettin logded in the head like i did with the fae, an it hardly ever stalls out. Just got one complaint You got to be extra, extra, extra carefull cause this thing will cut down any thing!!!

AAAHHHHHH!!!! Music to my ears. You do have to be careful, if you bump it, you just cut thru it.

Did a little testing with the TB175 and DAH-080c recently and a small pine tree sprung over and before I could move the head away I took about a 8 inch deep bite into a 24inch oak tree...thinking about going back with the video camera and finishing the job!

I thought the cimaf head couldn't be sold to a ctl user? Isn't this the agreement with GT? Or am I completly wrong?

Matt:confused:

If we were selling them now that would be the agreement. At the time those were sold they had not worked out that a CTL was different that a skid steer. Of course Gyrotrac liked the differing definitions because that limited us. But that is all water under the bridge for we do not sell front mount heads in the US or Canada now.

We bought the 180d about a year ago but ran it on the Takeuchi for a while....then we bought the smaller head to run on the takeuchi and just recently got the 180d fitted up on the sk120....I had to rebuild the motor in the 120 so it took a while to get it up and running.

These are great heads....we love the cut on them and just wish they wouldnt have settle with the other brand so that Cimaf could keep selling them on CTL. We kept one of our Fecons just for the junky(metal, concrete, and rocky) areas and for putting the mulch in the dirt. This way we have the best of both worlds.

Robbie, You need to get down here and check this thing out....its awesome. I almost wish i could have gotten a 6.5-7ft head.

So, is the gt head a rebadged Cimaf?

Matt:confused:

More or less yes. Kinda like the new ASV mulcher is a rebadged Fecon. We were actually making the heads for them in our plant and then thru some legal crap they began making them themselves. Basically copying them thru agreement. All I can say about that is when you take something out of house things change. Now they are still making them themselves under agreement. We still have our skid heads available outside US and Canada.
Now interesting turn of events. When we were making them we had a lot of heads in various stages of production. They took over production and we still had inventory. They were left and forgoten about, until now. So now we have 5 HF-500 heads available thru us....no restrictions. They will be DENIS CIMAF badged with original hardware and our motors. Plus they are alot cheaper than there GT counterparts. So if interested email or P.M. me.
