Kubota BX1800
Last year when I bought my BX1800, I also got a snowblower and front blade. The joystick (4 connectors - 2 across) was mounted on a column. Also mounted on the tractor was a bracket to hold the chute crank for the snowblower when it was used. This summer I decided to get a FEL also. When I got it back from the dealer, it had a different joystick (4 connections in a single row vertically) and the mounting column had been changed to now accept the FEL mount. I was also handed the mounting bracket for the chute control with a statement that it douldn't work with the new FEL and Kubota was "working on the problem". I was told that this is the case with all new BX's. Now, although I generally like this dealer, I have been handed occasional bits of information that have seemed somewhat less than sensible. My question is this: does anyone have a new BX with both a SB and FEL? If so, what provisions have been made for mounting the SB chute crank handle? I just want to get an idea how hard I should push for the issue to be resolved.

I called www.Tractorsmart.com today to order some parts, and while on the phone, I asked about this situation for you. After checking the books, he found that the snowblower has a new part number. BX2750B and that this new number supersedes all the previous snowblower part numbers. At present, he had no new parts manuals to see what the changes are. The parts manager is going to contact Kubota this week to see if the new parts manual is available and let me know what changes have been made from previous models. I will post this information as soon as I have it. Once the new parts book is available it will become available on their website. It seems that your dilemma should be resolved with a new part. Knowing Kubota, don't expect this new part to be inexpensive. A small retaining ring to hold the hoses on my snowblower is $16.35. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks Junkman. In theory (meaning not quite stated as an absolute fact), whatever is needed is supposed to be included as part of the price I paid for the FEL upgrade. We'll see what happens in reality. I've been led to believe that my dilemma is in fact shared by all purchasing a new BX with SB and FEL.

In re reading your original post, I now realize that you originally had a control valve to operate the blade and snow blower, but not the front end loader. The front end loader comes with the newly re designed control, and I assume that the dealer removed your old control and kept it. This old control should have been returned to you with the tractor, even though you didn't have a need for it. It does have a value and it does belong to you. As for the snow blower chute control handle support bracket, since you purchased the snow blower last year, I don't believe that you are entitled to receive free of charge the new bracket since you purchased a loader. If it were me, I would wait till the information about the new bracket is available and purchase it from Tractorsmart.com. If you don't want to purchase it, I will buy it for you and swap for the old control valve. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Your tractor is a Half Breed..... Part 2003 part 2004.... LOL... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't believe that this is going to be a problem for others, because if you purchase a new tractor and snow blower, you will get the latest version of the snow blower components. In the end, I will make it a point to follow up on this and advise you as to all what you will need to make the upgrade......... In reality, we have a few months before the snow arrives and by then all will be well... except you might be lighter by a few $$$$$ for the parts... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I hadn't thought of it as my owning the original valve, rather as a swap. I don't believe I paid enough for the price of a new valve to be included in the FEL purchase ($2100 installed, including pickup and delivery). Of course, I could be wrong about that but since it was never mentioned, I would find it difficult now to maintain that they should have returned the original valve. By the same token of not being mentioned, I do have an expectation (which may or may not be born out) that the modified bracket will be part of the FEL install, as they in effect have disabled part of my original configuration by installing the FEL. Time will tell. With regard to the latest version of the snowblower components, I was told that all new tractors will have the same issue - this is what I was trying to confirm.

The bracket for my blower on my 2200 is but a small piece of plastic that screws into the fel valve holder thingy. Imagine you could make one unless the new ones are totally modified.
