The identifier says its a ATC250ES which my hardcore buddy calims is for the sure a Big Red (the 250 version) but I could stand to be corrected. The reverse has actually been pretty handy in some tight spots.
One of my employees has the 200 Big Red, also an 85 and it is chain drive, pull start backup and no reverse. He has a trap line and takes the old girl on it every time. Great machines.
Check the year model on your's and your employee's. They built Big Reds in 200cc and 250cc models, but not in the same year. I had, if I remember correctly, a 1984 200 Big Red that was chain drive and I believe it had reverse, but no rear suspension. Also, the 200 B.R. had a high and low range where as the 250 had a single range 5 speed transmission, but 1st gear was extra low. The 250 also had rear suspension.
