Sorry for another suspension seat question. I've searched "suspension seat" in the "title only" but I still get 2,000 threads. Spent countless time reading about other seat, but couldn't find anyone using a seat like this.

I have disc problems, etc., etc., and can't take it any longer.

Have a John Deere 2320 with a Woods RFM. I put tennis balls under seat, it helped, but not even close to help my bad back.

Can't afford to spend $300 on a Michigan suspension seat right now, so I was looking at maybe one of these at Tractor Supply.

Universal Tractor Seat with Adjustable Suspension, Yellow - 0278213 | Tractor Supply Company

I see there is good reviews there, but wanted to see if anyone here has had first hand experience with one?
Don't mind doing a little fab work to install and don't mind if it looks a little funny on my tractor, as long as it keeps me from crying :weepy: when I'm done mowing the couple of acres I own.

.

M having some internet problems right now so could not look at the link but another sugestion would be a complete grammer seat assy w/ suspension. Should be able to get from about any Ag dealer and should only run about $120 for the whole shebang. For all I know that is what the tsc version is as well.

I searched "grammer seat" and yes, that's what Im referring too. I guess looking for someone that has one or used one, says there suspension is good and doesnt bottom out on a 280lb man, lol

the only problem with that seat that I can see is the height once installed, it is probably going to be too tall once installed!

Might be pushing your luck a tad for the standard grammer suspension. But I believe they have since added a unit that can handle the extra weight that we have put to our belt line over the years (I want to say A&I is pushing a big boy version). But yes the grammer seat assy's are pretty good suspension and seat assemblies. You will find a grammer seat assy on many, many open station utility tractors by multiple tractor mfg's. So long as it doesn't put you too high up for machine controls, safety, etc I would go for it. There is also a version that has an angle adjustable base (again you may already be looking at that) and it can be easier to mount in different applications. Some also have a springloaded flip up seat for outdoor storage and should be two choices in seat backs. Trapezoid style and wrap around style as well as about any color you desire.

I replaced the factory seat on my Yanmar with one of those. It was 1000% better than what was on it. It would still bottom out with my 245 # on it when hitting holes. The spring was tightened as much as I could tighten it. It worked fine for normal rough terrain, but when I would hit those semi-hidden ditches where the water lines was trenched in, I would feel the bottom of it. It does hold you in the seat good though. If you want premium comfort, I am afraid that you will only get that in the $300-400 range.

I will check into that, I did kinda forget that could be an issue, thanks for the reminder.

ya, I do understand....about the premium comfort.

your feedback was pretty much what I was looking for. I wouldn't expect a $100 seat with suspension to completely not bottom out.....just wanted to make sure it wasn't like adding a spring that mad you hit the bottom a little harder...if that makes any sence, lol

I guess I need to make a trip back to TSC. cause when I was just there, I just glanced at the seat.....(had other mission on mind)...but they had one out, so maybe I could do an true measurement to see how it would mount and most of all, take it for a ride in the isle....bounce on that sucker, lol

I just didn't want to throw out a $100 for nothing. (tight year)

One of the reviews in TSC webiste mentioned no seat switch or configured for seat belt. Just a couple things to think about and check out will looking at it in the store.

I'll post maybe by next week after I drive out to TSC and see if it's going to work for my JD 2320 for future reference.
