Tach went out on our Ford 1500 last week, parts are pretty much impossible to find for it. However I did find a tach for a 1510 at Wengers for ~$50. PTO speed was the same and looked like same mating threads so I ordered it.

Just installed it and while it works, it seems a tad slow. PTO position seems to be about 1/5th more throttle but it could just be my memory of where it was on the old tach isn't right.

Does anyone know if the tach cables between the 1500 and 1510 are the same ratio to the engine speed? Or if there's an easy way to measure RPM at the PTO that won't cost an arm and a leg?
