Swisher ZTR or another brand?

I recomend Badboy... you can see it in my sig :D. I tried a lot of ZTR (not naming them here)and when I read the Badboy recommendation here in TBN, I told my wife 'gotta try it since I never heard them before. And good thing I did. Although I went with 60" Lightning compare to what you are looking, I tried all of Badboy that my dealer has including the diesel. I have my ZTR now since 6/2009 and very happy with it. I even pull a 4x6 trailer with it. That 2" receiver is nice .
I just told my wife that like anything else sometime.. you'll get what you pay for. We talked about spending the money now because I know it will save me a lot of $#@%&^ in the future. Good luck with your purchase. I know that it will be a big price item but it will last you a while.
I have to add if you can talk to your dealer to add the first service and throw in a new set of blades on the deal. Don't ask why :D

Try those Badboys....:D

:D

Might want to check out the John Deere Z425, around $4400 Tax included. The only negative being the Briggs motor

:D

I've found a dealer around here that has a used 05 Gravely 260Z-26. It has a tad over 700 hours on it, and they're asking about $4500. I'm talking to them about taking a trade on an old tractor I have for sale. They also have the Bad Boys and several other brands there. If this Gravely is in good shape, I just assume not take the hit on a new machine if I don't have to. Anyone have any experience with that model?

It just so happens that I used that exact machine last week. My neighbor has one. It is a nice mower. It rode better than I expected. It has a "floating" front axle which apparently helps the ride quite a bit. It was a hoss too... mowing through thick, tall grass 60" at a time. It does need some attention though. It did not mow level. I checked the tire pressure and that is as far as I went with it. His has about 350 hours on it and I'm not sure what kind of service he has got out of it. I think I personally would lean towards a new one for that kind of money though. I really like the Ferris IS500. It does have a B&S engine which isn't at the top of my list, but, nearly everything about it is "commercial" grade. I believe the 44" cut model is a little under $5k.
