Switch box for BX

Keep in mind you are using 100W lamps off of a 40AMP alternator. As long as the total amps of running the lights, tractor, etc don't exceed 40 you shouldn't be harming anything. I'm not an relectrician either, but I did stay in a Holiday last night.

Thats basically what I have. The HOT off the terminal at the Alt instead of the battery, through the fuse box and to a switch. I need to run wires from the cigarette lighter that I mounted at the back of the fender, drilling through it in front of the fuel cell.

View attachment 103898This is the upper half of the ten circuit fuse box with plastic covers I upgraded to. I would recommend this. (Picture only shows the upper five circuits. Another five under a separate cover are below)

I basically just need something to mount the switch in. I plan to use the leads form under the seat. I have the high capacity alternator, but not sure on the exact size.

The first box I used was an outdoor waterproof (with gasket) electricians box with a blank face and a large 1" type hole at the bottom. I simply drilled its front for switches, back for bolts and pointed the large hole down and ran my looms inside from there. FYI, the big ALT on the BX's is 40A
