Amsoil sells 5 gal buckets of syn-hydro , it;s a 30 wt.(like the dino fluid).........i use it in a HST tractor that I run very hard in the very cold and very hot temps....I have no data to prove it's worth , but I can afford it for MY tractor.....

I use Chevron all weather synthetic THF. The 5-gallon container is $78.00 at my local supplier. It DOES flow faster in colder temps and the hydraulics have a slightly quicker response & feel compared to the stock petro fluid that came in my Mahindra....
Heck, that's $1.55 per 5 gals cheaper than SkyPup paid for the 55 gallon quantity? You do the math.:D
You not only save money, but you get eleven 5 gal containers to boot. Such a deal.:)

Rob, our price included the tractor trailer rig shipping direct to our farm, where I was fortunate enough to have a FEL to unload it! :D

bill6,

I use the Chevron AW Syn THF also, and find the same performance enhancements. I especially saw an easier start and markedly faster "ramp-up" in colder (single digit and sub-zero) temps.

Have you tried to obtain it lately. I just spent some time looking for it on Chevron's site and could not.

Here is another option: "TEXACO TDHョ OIL SS"

I examined the msds and product sheets from this and Chevron AW Syn THF (I saved them as pdfs last year) and the product is identical.

Please let me know if you can still find the Chevron product and thanks in advance.

Hey dirtball, I have an Amsoil catalouge and has an oil called synthetic tractor/hydraulic trannmission oil. SAE 5w30. I can get it in 5 gal. pails. Is this the same stuff you get? Also says "exceeds most demanding all weather specs for New Holland and John Deere. I guess it would work in my Kabota. The reason I ask is because after about tem minutes of plowing I start to hear a low pitch squeal. I have to stop the tractor for it to stop. After a half hour it stops doing it. It never happens in summer though. I instsalled Kubota filters to make sure it wasn't a bad Fram filter. This is the only reason I would change and i hear everyone say only use Kuboa sudt fluid. You seem to think Amsoil is better and I think Amsoil is the best of everything I just need to know exactly what I need. Thanks, Steve.

The 5W-30 you are referring to is product code ATH? I see Kubota UDT on the meets spec list for ATH.

There is more info on it HERE
