Oil & Fuel synthetic oil

On mobil one website they say to use 5w40 synthetic in place of conventional 1 5w40. Even at Napa I was told the same. I don't see 1 5w40 synthetic on shelves. I just wanted make sure I'm doing the right thing.

Yes, you're doing the right thing.

I know people have spent a lot of money on their tractors, cars, truck, and all their other internal combustion based equipment, but sometimes we over analyze the oil we use. It's far more important to regularly change oil and the oil filter.

Synthetic oil runs cooler because the oil drops are much more slippery than regular oil. Im not saying it is worth it for everyone, by the way. I just feel like sometimes my tractors start harder than they need to in the cold.

5w40 synthetic is the industry standard diesel full synthetic oil, just as 15 w40 conventional is the standard here in the US.Only difference is the fact that you will get noticeably faster easier starting, with higher cranking rpm in cold weather cold starts and less engine wear all around ,and if you have a Turbo,it loves the high temp protection of the full synthetic in the hotter months and when shut down without cool down...
