1) There CS tech people are rude and can’t give you answers when you want them
2) They had long extended drains, the stopped, now started again.
3) They used to state long ago that it was synthetic and it was not based on carrier adds
4) They do not post technical data on there website to make a proper selection. Why not post HTHS, CCS, four ball, flash to name a few.
5) I do not like ash in my oils. If you have a hot engine, again I personally do not like it.
6) some of there oils (most have moly) and I do not like that.
I get Amsoil pretty cheap and it does not make sense to switch.

I agree with you on many points but its all pretty darn close IMHO.
1) I found the same to be true with both Mobil and Amsoil. The only real peeve I have with Amsoil is the corporate stance about suing OEMS.
2)The new marketing program for M1 stinks, but I think Amsoil does the same in reverse by marketing the underdog and slamming on "big oil" comapnies.
3) My understanding is M1 and Amsoil are both pure synthetic stock but M1 keeps changing formulas so its a bit hard to keep up with.
4) The answer is marketing. In one test Amsoil would be better, the next M1 and the next Pennzoil. I bet the M1 gurus hate that.
5) I completely agree with you on the ash. I never realized it was a component by weight. I think the most relevant issue is what is the ash content on your oil analysis. I come up with <0.1% on every test. Two labs and consistant with what other guys have posted. What do you show on yours after 10-15k? You will always wind up with some ash after the product is used, Right?
6) I know the Molly issue is a deal breaker for some. I can't say I see the difference based on my results.
I would certainly be more open to brand A if I could get a better price. Best of luck,
