System 2000 heating system

I have a System 2000, installed in March 2000. Thankfully, and so far- ZERO problems. This system is EXTREMELY quiet, our house, 1500 sq.ft., has used an average of 2 1/2 tanks of oil each year. We went with the whole package, power venter, stainless water tank, and forced hot air (new construction). It has worked so well that my parents replaced their 45 year old original oil baseboard hot water system with a System 2000 boiler setup. They have had it 1 1/2 years now, last year was a cold winter, but they used almost 500 gallons less fuel- and the previous furnace was maintained and running at peak efficiency for what it was. I think you'll really like it! By the way, I live in Ct. also, just off 395. We used a company in Uncasville called " The Heat People", really great to deal with in my situation.

That is wonderful news Elmo. BTW, if you're on 84 and near the MA/CT state lines, you're 100 ft from our home. Feel free to drop by if in the neighborhood.

One thing I've heard repeatedly is that you really really want to install good water filters on the feed line to the system. Apparently the heat exchangers are very sensitive to contamination. I was looking at both system 2000 and Veismann and ended up going with a Biasi boiler with a Riello burner and a high velocity air system. We live in a huge old farmhouse and the small ducts of the high velocity system will definitely make the most sense for retrofit. The same system will also feed a hyrdo/air system in our office section and will feed radiant heat in both levels of the workshop. Not an inexpensive system but the energy savings will be signficant as it replaces 1 steam boiler, 1 forced hot air oil system and a propance hvac system in the offices.

I waited for 2 months for Veissman to get a quote to get back to me - maybe next week - but they have likely lost the job already.

Check out HeatingHelp.com for trade discussions on same.

I've looked at quite the number of systems. For our monies and what is offered, the system 2K seems to be the best offer. Retrofitting here, would be difficulat as there is no sheet rock. Every wall and ceiling is plaster. The wife can't handle the thought of huge grates for forced air heat and/or AC. This, limited my options tremendously. So, heat the cellar, first floor, both w/forced hot water, and an air handler for second floor. The second floor will have AC. We have a huge window AC and a smaller one, that keeps the first floor manageable. I've already signed the contract for the system 2K. Second choice was a Buderus, german made boiler system.
