I’m looking at adding rear remotes to my L3240 using a Summit Hydraulic remote kit to supply top and tilt cylinders. The summit kit includes a T connection to return to the tank.

Is the T connection really necessary for top and tilt (2 way) cylinders?

I have a W R Long 3rd function valve which operates the grapple’s 2 way cylinders connected to the power beyond port off the FEL valve. The summit remote kit would be supplied by the power beyond port off the W R Long 3rd function valve. The W R Long 3rd function has no T connection and works just fine.

Maybe I’m missing something here but operating in series off the FEL valve would not the T connection off of the FEL valve provide any necessary flow back to the tank thru its relef valve.

If I understand right, your WR Long 3rd function valve to the grapple's 2 way cylinders is powered by the PB port of the FEL valve. And then a pressure line goes from that WR Long PB back to the remotes.

So you will have three daisy-chained valve sets. Each valve set requires its own return line to the hydraulic sump. Some folks use three separate lines all slightly larger than the PB line. - and that is said to be the best practice.

But some other installations use a T or Y connection to splice the return lines together. That may be what a single extra T connection is for. Splicing the return lines into one works as long as the return flow is small relative to the return line size. Otherwise you'll get some back pressure and sometimes a valve will work a cylinder you didn't expect. No biggie.

Did Summit supply a schematic for the valve assembly. Does the Summit valve have two or three line that need to be connected back to the tractor? If can you post that so we know what type of valve package you have.
The WR Long valve is designed to have pressure on the tank port others are not.
