Actually, it looks like the Halloween display in front of my plumber's house! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm sure the concept is familiar. But change out those pumpkins for something lemon sized and you might have me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep, Harv, yours is a little over engineered compared to a T-N-T carport, but then I'm sure you get a little more than $700 for yours, too. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif And what you're building now ain't portable. These cheap carports are at least semi-portable. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif One elderly couple here in the park had their mobile home moved to a different lot (I have no idea why), but the guys who did the job, removed the anchors from their carport added 4 castors, one under each corner, and rolled it to the new location, removed the castors, and anchored it down again.

As already pointed out in a way only he could do, I was being tacky. Their product is less than two dollars a square foot and mine is eleven to twelve.

I moved one of those for a friend with my tractor. He only wanted it to be moved three feet sideways and I thought it would only be a thing. We pulled the anchor rods. I lifted up one side and we put some pipes down for it to slide on.

I moved over to the other side and lifted up. It did the splits. We used some tie downs to secure it vertical and it moved just like it was supposed to.

I wondered why they anchored the bottom rails to the concrete before assembling the rest. I guess I know now. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

i've never heard of T-N-T carports, but there is a factory just a short distance from me that makes and sells the same thing you have. they had a price of $595 installed for a while last year, i went there an bought one for $495, and installed it myself. i won't do that again. the worse $100 i ever saved..
the price is $695 now, installed. they ship and install these things all over the place, and have an 800 number i will get and post. i think i have posted it in the past but can't find it.
i don't see how they install those things so fast, i tried all sorts of drills and even pre-drilled the holes for the self-drilling screws, and it was still hard stuff to drill into. i've heard a lot of talk about different guages, but a local builder that says he has thicker metal, and has a lot higher prices, uses the exact same stuff this place does.

Rick, I wonder if the companies are affiliated or at least work together. The price is the same and this time, the crew was driving a truck with Arkansas license plates. I learned just a little bit from the crew last year because the older of the two men spoke a reasonable amount of English, but this year none of the 3 man crew spoke English (and I don't speak Spanish), so we had to use sign language and the documents they had. When they finished the installation and one of them brought me an invoice to sign and I offered him a credit card to pay, he just pointed to the 800 number on the invoice, so I called after the crew left and paid for it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Last year, the guy just wrote all the information from my credit card on the invoice and I think it was 2 months before they billed it.

its called coast to coast carports here, and only a couple of them at the factory speak english. the toll free number is an 888 number i think. but they said they cover texas, so i bet its the same company. i see a lot of independent installers going thru with those special trailers that can haul a bunch of the carports at a time, the trailer is long and skinny..
sure sounds like the same company to me..

I'll bet it's the same company, just from how they handle their finances. I paid 10% down at the carlot where I ordered it, but they said it had to be cash only. When I started to walk because I didn't have that much cash on me, the girl said, OK, just make the check out to me. .....OK....?

They installed it a few weeks later, made the check out to Carolina Carports. Two weeks later, they called me and asked if I had paid the workers. I said yes. Then they asked if I could describe them....hmmmm. What color truck?....hmmm. I told them. Two weeks later (1 month after installation), they apparently found my check and cashed it.
