Hi all,
This is my 3rd post and I'm glad to have found this site! It looks as useful as the site for my VW Jetta TDI (diesel).
Yesterday, June 28, my 5 year old son & I went to a dealer that sold NH & Kubotas. I got quotes from other dealers for a JD 2520 & Kubota 2920 but the NH T1510 was perfect for me. The price seemed fair but what do you guys think? This is my first tractor!
$17500 OTD for the T1510 std tranny, 60" FEL, and 5' box blade. The FEL is NH but the box blade isn't. It's 7.5% sales tax in the area.
I wanted them to throw in the shop manual but he said that was almost $400 for all the manuals. I do my own work on everything I own but I never heard of such a high price for a simple tractor shop manual. Where can I purchase the shop manual. Also, I wonder why they have so many manuals for that tractor. There's not many electronics and the wiring diagram looks like it can be covered in 5 pages or less. And the body--well, it's a tractor!
Boy, I wasn't intending to buy any tractor for another month or so. And it was just plain luck that I had the time to go to the dealer yesterday. And it was just luck that he was open on Saturdays!! And the really big piece of luck was that the 48 months with no interest is expiring Monday!!! I thought it went through July.
I really liked the Kubota 2920 and wanted to see what NH had comparable to it. The salesman showed me the T1110 but I told him that wasn't the same. He then showed me a brochure for the T1510. It was perfect! I did a lot of research on all the tractors I was interested in but never looked at the 1510 because it was in the 30HP category on the NH website--I wasn't looking for a 30HP tractor. I got quotes from him on the Kubota 2320, 2620, 2920 and T1510 (HST and STD) and they were outfitted the same. Actually, the 1510 had a bigger FEL and I opted for the 5' BB instead of the 4' BB as was offered on the Kubotas. He had a 2920 and the T1510 on site so it was easy to compare. The 1510 was just a 'meatier' tractor and weighs almost 800lbs more.
The T1510 is the new nomenclature for the old TC30. I searched both numbers and the tractor appears to be very solid and dependable.
Do you guys have any other input? Was this a good price?
Thanks for your time in reading this--I can't wait to get it!!!
