I have a T1860 (diesel) that had not been started for a couple of years. Yesterday I put a battery in it and got ignition but the starter wouldn't swing, so I bridged it off at the starter and it lit up and just revved up and I couldn't slow it down. I had to shut the engine down. I'm wondering what could have caused this. I had the throttle at slow and the throttle linkage was not stuck. I need to get this thing working
