Soo guys... here I am again... been a while, but things are busy. This is my second 2013 T4.75 12x12 with only 160hrs on it and I got transmission problems again, but this time it is different. My chore was to bring in 8 cords of firewood from the wood pile with the front loader and dump it down a chute to the furnace room in the basement. So I go High range up to 3rd gear either in forward or reverse (didn't bother turning around each time) as its only like 500ft to travel. Had about 60% of the 8 cord of wood already dumped in the basement, about half way to the wood pile in high range 2nd gear, I hear a noise as if a cable let go that operates the loader or the range shifter. I can shift all gears and all ranges but when I put the transmission in park, the tractor rolls away as if it is in neutral. Had the mechanic down and to my surprise the cable is actually good, but the leaver on the tranny that would lock the transmission in park turns around freely! What must have happen is the pin inside the transmission broke off and went through the gears... the noise would be sounding the same than I heard. Luckly I still have 1 month warranty! So my dealer is picking this week my tractor up for repair.

My question is: Does anyone with their 2013 T4.75, 3.2L with a 12x12 have any tranny problems (besides the usual blah blah like can't shift in and out of Park because of an adjustment)? This is my second one... DANG IT!

I had a clevis fall of the cable causing park not to work on our T4.75. Simple fix. Nothing internal though. Keep us posted. Wonder if this tractor can be upgraded with a hand parking brake? Anyone know?

The euro version has a normal hand brake. Anyway... my tractor is at the dealership right now. I know about the usual cable problem, but my problem is inside the tranny. Oh well... thank God for warranty! :D

So I got the tractor back and it was covered under warranty. I guess that parking pin did brake off inside and went through the transmission. Damaged gears, a barring and that pin of course. To date I have no idea why that pin did brake off, as it happened during driving and I didn't shift anything on the range leaver at that time. I guess that this arrangement with putting the transmission in Park, is a weak link on that tractor. What happens if one would park the tractor on an incline and the pin brakes? It's like your tractor is in neutral. Nothing holding it back. :(

Went out to use my T4.75 today and noticed some oil on the floor. The transmission is leaking oil out of the 1-2-3-4 shifter linkage that goes into the transmission. Probably some rubber O rings on that shaft that are gone, is my best guess right now.

Put in new seals and things are good so far. Same seals for the gear shifter are on the the range selector shifter that goes into the tranny right rear.

Did you put in new seals yourself or did dealer take care of it? Thanks for your updates!

I let the dealer come down and repair it on the spot.

wasn't any info, I cant remember if it was a vid or a pic. Those guys over there get bigger front tires too and 55hp, 65hp and 75hp engines to chose from.

They get quite a few more options, including a high lift capacity 3 or hitch of I think around 5k lbs. Google t4 power star uk brochure or something along those lines. You should find a pdf with all the specs.

All tractors in U.K. And Europe have to have a proper hand brake fitted as standard

Koroman Do you know if there is an upgrade kit to install a hand brake available or parts to make one up on US tractors? My dealer says no and I've looked and have not found any parts lists showing a hand brake. It can be a real pain trying to hookup 3pt implements using Park. Would love to add a hand brake of some type.

As my father got older and used tractors were still relatively cheap he bought a tractor for each major implement and just left them on their respective tractors. He ended up with four units and never took the implements off.

Jack,

There is no kit to install a park brake like you want. NH is not working on anything that dealers were made aware of either.

This is unfortunate as this is one of the small annoying things that make the T4.75 a near miss - otherwise a nice chore tractor.

All tractors in U.K. And Europe have to have a proper hand brake fitted as standard

They also have other standard options like LH/RH dip lights, extra guards, mirrors, beacon mounts and that crazy hood latch.

Here's an update on my t 4.75/handbrake. A very helpful individual from across the big Pond (Great Britain) Helped me find all the parts to install a hand brake on my T 4.75!! All bolted right in with no modifications to the tractor except one bracket which had to be remanufactured because it was no longer available through NH. I was able to get an engineered drawing of the bracket which helped make it. I now have a hand brake in this tractor!! Didn't realize how much I missed a hand brake. I very rarely if ever use the the transmission "parking Pawl/brake" anymore. If anyone wants the information on the handbrake let me know and I'll pass it along.

The attached Parking Brake Parts pdf are the hand brake parts I ordered from the dealer in England (expensive shipping from England) (after checking online I now think these parts are available here also) and they all bolted right in with no modifications including hooking the cables to the brake cylinders. I just removed an access plate on the floor beside the seat Parking Brake Floor Mount pdf attached and installed the parking brake handle and cables Parking Brake Handle Installed pdf attached. I had to cut out a piece of the plastic cover for the handle.

The original brake cable brackets sent from England were wrong but I found the left one here. I changed out the rear tank bracket with part #84367147 New Fuel Tank Bracket with attached Brake Bracket pdf on the left side. My dealer was able to get this part for me after I gave him the part number. The right side was another story. The part # 84382044 the right side bracket is not available currently (maybe NH will make it available soon), but I was able to get an engineered drawing of the bracket Brake Bracket Drawing pdf. and ordered a duplicate of the right bracket on my tractor #84296099 then remanufactured it using parts of the wrong bracket that was sent from England #48081225 Brake Brackets Purchased pdf attached. I removed the longer cable brackets leaving the shorter one, cut down the back plate of the wrong bracket then attached it to the duplicate bracket Brake Bracket Right Side Made from two pdf attached. I then replaced the right bracket on the tractor and attached the cables to the remanufactured bracket, the transmission and the right brake cylinder. After adjusting the parking brake handle the parking brakes works ok.

I had problems converting the metric measurements and I attached the cable bracket for the right brake approx. 3/8 inch to close to the brake cylinder causing the saddle in the parking brake handle to not be level but it works! Maybe some day I will fix the bracket or better yet maybe NH will make the correct right bracket available in the USA that I can purchase. But for now no more leaving the tractor in neutral while hooking up implements. I can set the brake and it stays right where I backed it to. I don't have to worry about rolling it back and forth to get the parking pawl to engage. I rarely if ever use the transmission parking pawl now. This will be much safer for my kids and myself. Currently looking into how to hook up parking brake warning light. If I get this figured out I'll post also.

The original parts were $440.00 plus shipping $155 from England then I bought the left tank bracket and the right bracket here for $178.00 plus shipping.

Hope this helps let me know how you make out.
