Thanks for the nice comments. Even though it seemed like a longish ride that loop along with about 250 yards of the road only encircle about 10 acres. It is the flattest area we have and is fairly rock free. It is surrounded by rock walls though so I figure the old timers must have picked all the rocks and used that area for a crop field. There are also some big rock piles here and there another clue it could have been a crop field vs a pasture.

What I want to see is the video I watched a few years ago on this site which was going up the mountain to get firewood and then coming back down. I got puckered just watching it. Anybody know where that one is?

My drive to work this morning. Starts out in the door yard then up thru the woods a ways and onto a new road I put in last summer. Goes past the logging area and ends in a little landing. Headed to the mill with a load of spruce and fir.
Nice property you got there. I can't believe how flat it is, good for you. I just got back a couple of hrs. ago from my camp and after a week of warm weather up there its like a mini mud season.

fitter1, I hear you on the mud season and more warm rain today. Ugh. We are not quite as flat as you might think from that video. We have a 320 foot change in altitude across place so there as plenty of hilly and steep parts.
Loudo I also enjoy photos from other places. Those from places like Down Under are especially interesting. We have many tree species here on our place. For softwood- white pine, red and white spruce, hemlock, and balsam fir. There are a lot more hardwood types but the main one are aspen (popple), white birch, black cherry, apple, pin cherry, striped maple, red maple, red oak, white ash, sugar maple, yellow birch, beech, and hop hornbeam (iron wood). If you don't mind a joke we also have hinney trees
Thanks for your interest
