I have a 2007 Massey Ferguson 2310 (from the factory with a backhoe), 400 hours. I have a lead on a 2012 MF 2400, 11 hours at a fair price. I am wondering if I can easily transfer the hoe, frame brackets and hydraulics from the 2007 2310 to the 2012 2400. Called 3 dealers. One said "easy" another said "impossible" and the 3rd didn't know. Reading on the web I saw a post that stated the 2410 frame is built much heavier than the 2400 so that the 2410 can take the strain of a backhoe. I have trouble believing the factory has different frames and suspect the differences are either bolt on frame/hydraulics plus the decal on the fender. However, I am wondering if the hydraulic pumps are different between the 2 tractor models (2400 vs 2410 vs 2300 vs 2310).
Am I crazy to think this would be an afternoon conversion and that the 2400+hoe would be just as strong as the 2310 with hoe?
