Taking time for a beautiful sunrise

I just spent about two cups of coffee sitting on the porch and watching the sunrise. It was breath taking, maybe not more so than normal, but to day the kids were in bed, the wind calm, the sky clear and the air crisp, i should pay more attention to the earth than I do at times. Make me reflect on my dad who conducted sunrises and sunsets, the sunsets were his specialty. After a hard day at it he sat in a chair on the porch and would say, oh a little more red and purple and act as a conductor to the music of light that was the sunset, love ya dad.

My favorite part is when the light is very flat and the mountains on the horizon look like paper cut outs against the very early sunrise.

Man what a magic place we live in, and that we have the ability to see and enjoy our beautiful earth.

I hear ya fella. Taking time to enjoy the simple things that are realy the most important in life. The family safe and snoozin it up, good coffee , great seanery.fresh air. Dane, I don't have the open country like you have out west where you can see for miles, but on my weekend mornings, I like to get up early and brew a pot of coffee, then sit at a small round table we have in a bay window area, and sit there and watch birds and other critters come to our feeders (we have woods). Taking the time to enjoy that, and some quiet time to talk to my wife. It's a refuge from our busy work week where we pass each other on the road. I've been out thru Idaho a couple of times.... and as I remember the southern part is more arid and open, while the northern part has more pine forests and mountains. Being a gardener, I was facinated by looking at the potato farms in your state. We were looking for a good place to eat breakfast once, and I saw this place with all these pickup trucks parked outside, and told my wife that that was a good place to get breakfast because it looked like some local farmers were there. I enjoyed just listening to them talk. One thing I learned from having children is that they come into the world with a fresh set of eyes, and facination at things adults seem to pass over every day without giving second thought. Take time to enjoy, look at, and marvel the simple things around us. And all it takes is a little of your time but otherwise free.

Yes Southern Idaho is high step desert, mountains all around with forrest to the north.

It sounds like your setting is beautiful as well.

I travel a lot with work, and every where that I go I find beauty in nature.

Sometimes I just need to SLOWWWWW DOWN.

I believe nothing is permanent. Everything is in a state of change.

So when we have a good moment we'd better embrace it because it will soon be gone.

Of course the same philosophy works for the bad ones too. We can endure and survive because it won't last and it will be gone also.

It doesn't matter if it's a sunrise or one of those moments when you realize as a father that your child is actually listening.

There all great, sun rise and set, the moon especially full moons. and i love to sit outside at night and study the stars. Where i live the only light you get outside at night is the stars and on a crisp night they are so bight compared to living in the city. I'm not sure about the coffee though a nice glass is my choice most times.
