Tank for on-site fueling?

I would imagine any old fuel oil furnace tank could be used.

I have a fuel oil furnace do you guys know with the smaller CUT's can you run fuel oil (#2 diesel) or does it all have to be ULSD? My fuel oil is a 30% kero mix but I'm going to start filling from the pump with anti-gel as it is cheaper than getting Kero/Diesel mix.

I have a 500 gallon tank. Local bylaws required it to be double containment. Electric pump and mechanical meter. Had it filled earlier this week............$2700 for marked. (Off road).

Only issue is that furnace oil has poor lubrication. You just need to add a lubricating additive.

I use a furnace oil tank. Works great.

Around here heating oil, furnace oil, off road #2 diesel are all the same.

I like the versatility of having more room in my pickup bed and not packing a bunch of fuel around all the time. With my SSQA forks, this works nicely for me.

I'm one small step from getting a pickup tank. The prices at the pump are cheaper and the BS is just growing with the fuel companies. I used to be able to talk to the owner on a Saturday. Now I get the answering service that asks if I want a "PROJECT MANAGER" to call me. So what do they call a truck driver? Probably a Petroleumdistilate Logistical Solutions Technican.

I wonder if any of the pickup tanks can be removed easily. Seems most are in there for good.

If the FEL can lift it... a pallet-mounted tank would gravity-feed with no need for pumps or electricals.

I use 150 tank on small trailer and can pull to site if needed but pull it to station for filling. I had manual pump on it and really recommend electric pump for hard not to run fuel over when you are pumping the fuel and no one to watch how full the fuel is getting. Use to hear it filling if tractor was off but my hearing is not that keen any more.

Person that was on here often used air pressure to push the fuel out of his tank if memory is correct. Brown or something was his name. I would think that could work well with nose and nozzle for electric pump. Of course fill cap has to be air tight. Might need to have a pipe cap with air fitting screwed into it or brazed onto it.

I Have a 300 gal tank with electric pump and and 100gal sq tank with hand pump i can load in truck or on trailer if im working away from home. I set up an account with local fuel company and saves about 50 cent a gallon just calling them to come fill it up when it gets low. last I bought in march was 2.25 a gal
