Got a 6' snow plow for 100 bucks, was a steal I think.. it has a 12v electric motor for moving blade side to side.

Just curious if there is an easy way to tap into the power supply, or one way better than the other.

Suggestions

Thanks

It's best to go directly to the battery for high-current devices like a snowplow pump that can draw HUGE amounts of power in a very short time.

I would suggest you be very cautious with this, Your 2305 has a very small alternator and recharging the battery might just bring it to a early death.

How are you mounting the plow?

If it is running an electric pump just take it off and run hydraulic hoses up to the cylinders. It will be much more reliable

At first i though the motor moved it side to side some how, but my guess after zooming in on the picture is he has a winch on it to move it up and down.. I'll know more when i pick it up tomorrow.. But its not hydraulic, might have to manually set it first, dunno, haven't seen this setup before..

Any one have one like this? Couldn't pass the price up, as much as i want a blower, this will save me some cash..

That is a Snow Bear Plow. Sold through Lowes. They are a very light duty plow for the home owner. It uses the winch to lift it. To angle it side to side you simply get out of the truck and pull the lever, rotate, and lock it in to one of the holes.

I am familiar with them. That is a older version. The new ones have a few changes but still very similar.

So 100 bucks was a decent deal then.. Sweet..

Sounds like the perfect setup for my 2305, but I am sure I can figure out a hydraulic angle on the grappler circut.. Not going to be commercially plowing with it, should work out nice.. thanks for the info.. Who knew..

How are you mounting the plow?

Haven't even thought about that yet, but was planning on making a set of QA forks, so might be able to make forks removable and mount the plow on it in the winter.. I'll have to give this some thought, suggestion?

That sounds like a good idea. Just get a 8" double acting cylinder to do the angle and use the grapple circuit. Then adapt a your fork mount to accept the the plow. The plows I have seen like this just use maybe 5" long by about 1" in diameter pins to hold it to the vehicle side. Its then held in place by small lynch pins.

Here is a link to show you how they mount.
