I took some pics and will post them when I get to work. I tried to find any #'s I could on it. They were hard to read. If you are sitting on the bachoe seat and the hoses are coming out the back of the backhoe control valve i see.

A?SSSA stamped on the top of the lever housings.
The return side says either TL-3 or E-TL
The Intake side I think says 7-TL

25/11/89 I think that is the Manufacuter date.

It's a Kelly Backhow Model B30FJ # 900323-009890

There are a big nut or cap head on the left and right side of the valve hoses.

The first image is of the whole valve and the second is of the outlet side.

In the bottom picture, which is the outlet side, there appears to be a large plug, and this might be the PB outlet. It could also be another tank port outlet that is plugged. However, it would be difficult to add a sleeve and connect a hose without cutting out part of the frame work. The kit you mentioned might be the outlet side with PB sleeve installed. If so, you will have to take the valve off the frame to install it.

The kit you mentioned, was that for a spool section, with lever for the thumb, or just a PB sleeve?

If you want to clean up that valve, you might try soda blasting, then primer and paint, or clean it up and just spray hyd oil on it.

The outlet side is the left side when operating the backhoe. I wouldn't mind using a holesaw to make a access hole to get the plug nut if I knew it would work. I don't know what comes in the kit either. I asked the guy on the phone and he didn't know either. With the PB port is it feasible that the plug is removed and then a sleeve threaded in which would connect to a hose to the lever that works the thumb. If so, Where does the existing return line go? Does the sleeve plug off the existing return.

The tank line still goes to tank/reservoir from that valve, and if you add a new valve, the tank/out hose from that valve also goes to tank.

What the PB sleeve does, is to block off the fluid from the tank poet, and route the hyd fluid downstream. Most of the time, the tank port goes back to tank.

Sometimes, several tank hoses can be teed together, and then only one hose goes to tank.

When you mention lever, are you talking about another valve with lever, that gets it's fluid from the PB port?

If that is a Prince valve, you could order a spool stack with lever and add it to the existing valve, and you would not need the PB sleeve.

If the dealer has what you think you need, have him look in the box and determine what you are getting, before shipping.

ok i'm starting to understand this. If their kit doesn't include a lever then I should just get the PB sleeve and a seperate valve to run the thumb. I guess the hard part is trying to figure out what sleeve I need since I don't know who makes the Valve. I don't see anyway to add another lever in the current block unless you don't have to use the current endblock (the one with the return hose). It's pretty tight in there. I don't mind using a seperate valve aslong as it's not huge and in the way.

As far as the additional section, it is about 2 in wide, and if you have the room, would be ideal.

Those kind of valves can be stacked from one to 12 spools. You just add spools, and longer bolts.

If the dealer has parts for it, then he must know the make of the valve.. Some of them will not give you the time of day.

I am thinking you should be talking to a hyd tech in the dealership. There are service people that look up a number and go to the shelf and ship it out, without knowing anything about it. I get just as frustrated as you when people don't give me the info I need. Good luck.
