No, there is only the spin-on fuel filter. The engine itself didn't overheat at all, just slowed down and died. I was referring to the possibility of no lube oil in the IP itself, which I was unaware needed external oil added. My other diesel engines are either diesel lubed - Westerbeke 4-91 with a CAV IP or internally lubricated with motor oil from the block - '89 F-250 with 7.3 INT. & an old MB 300D, both with Bosch type systems. On the boat the there is an in-line strainer, the racor 12µ, then the 2µ spin-on.
