Taxes for tractor shed or small barn

Have a 32x40 with a lean to. If i would have a concrete floor then yes id pay tax on it. I dont b/c of that reason. I put about 8 inches of #2 limestone and then capped.

That's clear.
In my area It works in the same way but you need to know the Mayor wife's cousin.
It works even better if your great grand father used to have a drink with the Mayor's great grandfather...

CT taxes all permanent buildings. I have a 12x16 shed, pay $50 tax a year. I had a 40x50 barn, paid $500 tax a year. Tore it down, paid a $250 demolition permit for that. Building a new 30x40 pole barn. Permit was $400 for that. Don't know what the tax bill will be when it is complete, but expecting $500 or more. Temporary buildings are not taxed which would be plastic hoop houses, sheds on wooden skids (but they do require permits).

Minnesota it depends on county, city, township. City codes and permits can get quite expensive due to past shoddy building practices. Out in my rural area the permit fee is quite high because of squatters putting up a shack in the summer and the county having to clean up the blight when a few 40 below nights culls them out. Taxes based on what the assessor values the building. Give him/her a hard time and you are likely to get burned. I offer to hold the tape measure for them and have surprisingly had reduced overall assessment after a building project. Insurance guy is different - that’s always a hit.
