Anyone run a taylor Way rototiller?
Local stealer has 7' Taylor Way tillers for $2,600

are they Chinese?

Joe,

I can't answer your question directly.

Can you look at the manual?

I have one of their rotary mowers and the manual shows that they have used several sources over the years for their gearboxes, slip clutch components, etc. I don't remember that they were using Chinese components, but I could be mistaken. They have a primitive Web site, but they have responded to my requests for info.

I believe they're Italian.

Just a followup as my memory is failing me. I recalled reading that apparently Taylor Way is now part of King Kutter and that their tillers may be identical. I tried to post a link but it didn't take. Try a Google search -- there is info out there.

Their 962 series 60" looks identical to my KKII (wt, #tines, #flanges, HP, etc) except for color of the paint.

I have. :) Of course I work for King Kutter, which is the parent company of Taylor Pittsburgh Mfg., who makes the Taylor-Way brand of equipment.

These tillers are MADE IN THE USA. King Kutter has three manufacturing facilities in the US, one of which is in Galliopolis, OH, and that is where most of the tillers are made.

The Taylor Way tillers use the same gear driven gearboxes as what you will find on King Kutter tillers.

I hope you buy one, and I believe that you will be happy with it.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Price is $2,600 for a 7' tiller. How's that price-wise?

EverythingAttachments lists a 84" KK for $2799. King Kutter Tiller They are usually pretty competitive on price. So if the TW and KK tillers are identical, it seems to be a good price on the face of it. I'm no expert, so I defer to their judgment.

I don't think they are identical.

FWIW. We picked up a new 72" TW for $1900 a year ago.

If I was in the market for a tiller, (and I will be eventually), I'm certain I'll be buying a King Kutter II.
