TBN time vs. tractor time

I'm wondering how much time we spent on the tractor vs. time browing and posting on TBN? Looking at the number of posts of some members...WOW! I bet it's a lot more hours than their tractor. That's just posting alone! I ask because that's almost the 1st thing I do when I get up in the morning...turn on the computing and go to tractorbynet... When I'm away for a few days without access to the internet. As soon as I got home, I'm on it. This site is becoming addictive...

Addictive yes. But real is still better.

While at work, Read/Post during free/slow time. Most of my time here.
Nights, some, not much, nothing on tv or no home event I check in.
Weekends, rarely, to many outside things to do. Maybe sunday night
Monday morning..picture posting time if I have any!

When I'm up at the weekend place....What Internet???

BTW, T-minus 2 hours and counting before I leave the office today. If goes as planned I'm on the road at 1:00, arriving Elkhart at 3:00. Swapping out the front turfs for ags (3 ribs) by 3:30, testing shortly there after. Last prep before the bow season opener on Sept 29th.

Most of my internet time is while I'm at work. ALL my tractor hours are at home. If TBN would have been around 30 years ago, I doubt my post count would have been quite as high. My job now has a lot of slack time at certain times of the year. Since cutting back on my farming habit, I've got a bit more free time there too.

It's more fun being online than sitting on a tractor cutting grass.

Unlike many on here, if I'm on my tractor that means I'm having to do mindless work instead of doing things I'd rather be doing. My tractor and skidsteer aren't toys.

I get great satisfaction out of driving my tractor. Like any task, you only get out of it what you put into it. I try different stripe patterns in the lawn and rarely do it the same way twice in a row. Brush hogging my trails, I always see different wild life and plant life in constant seasonal change. FEL work... you never know what you're going to dig up.

That "mindless work" is therapy to some of us. I get enough time in the office to satisfy me. I get enough time with my broker. I get enough stress and strain on the brain. I get enough time with all my "Mind work". That "mindless" stuff is what I enjoy the most.

Somehow I have a feeling I'm not alone in that pursuit of happiness.

When I'm on the tractor cutting the grass, I'm in deep thought, trying to figure out the great puzzle called life.
It's good for me to be outside doing something productive... sometimes surfing the internet can be a little mindless too!

At times sitting on the tractor is mindless but when the scenery is right and Ive got Alan Jackson playin in my earphones and a good cigar planted between my lips, lookin out into the mountains in the fall is not so bad

Maybe if I had to mow as much as you I would have a different view

I'm kind of in the same boat (well, maybe on a similar tractor?)

The company where my wife and I have worked for the past seven years is closing down. I get to turn out the lights in my department in three weeks (Friday the 13th). She gets to turn out the rest of the lights on New Year's Eve.

For the past couple of months my job has been mostly baby sitting as my crew closes out all the current contracts. I must be at my computer and by the phone all day long, but I don't have a lot of work to do. So, surfing takes up a big part of my day.

I'll miss TBN when I start a new job.

I have my morning coffee while reading posts, then if and when I come in for lunch, I also check out the latest posts. Then while Steph is cooking dinner, I'll aslo check back for anything new. But once dinner is done, Steph gets the computer and it's her show then. hahahaha

I get tired and beat up running one of my tractors and enjoy not being on them with short break reading posts. Like Gatorboy mentioned, it can get rather mindnumbing after awhile.

Some of the posts I read get me to thinking in new directions that I wouldn't have considered otherwise. That alone can make an afternoon of moving dirt go much, much faster!!!!

I'm another one that surfs at work. At home I rarely turn the computer on, partly because the best connection we can get is 26.4. Here at the office it's DSL, and since I can see the telephone switch office out my window our DSL is FAST.

I have been enduring an ongoing battle to control my blood pressure. Two doctors, 3 years, maybe 8 different drug combos. Still always around 150 (which under the old rules was fine) EXCEPT when I'm home and using my Power-trac. The computer chart I take in to the Dr. always shows my BP to be excellent when I'm home and working outside. Been trying to get the Dr. to prescribe early retirement. No luck so far.

The BP tracker program I use is free and works great if anybody is interested - SoundTells®. Software for Health™ They have a few programs for other medical things that need tracking. There's always a pop-up page (gives them a few pennies) unless you want to buy it but it's been a trouble-free program.

Actually, my BP would probably be much higher at work without TBN. (Maybe I can get a prescription for that so I don't catch as much h*ll from co-workers .... "you on that forum AGAIN?!?!?")
