TOMLESCOEQUIP, dude that is a great idea to remove the front drive shaft from my tractor. I was thinking my self that something is better than nothing. So 2wd should get me by if I am careful and stay off the slopes. But I can tell you 4wd makes all the difference in these small tractors. This would also allow me to road the tractor once again. I never use 4wd on dry pavement and know all too well the problems with 4wd in trucks, so I would not want those problems with my tractor.
I will call the service manger and ask him what he thinks; he will be surprised to hear the bushing was not protecting the oil pan. Maybe he can send out one of his crack mechanics to remove the front drive shaft. I know I should not do that myself.
