Price Check TC 25D Pricing - I Think I Got One!

Well, after finding a great price on a Kubota 2710 HSD with MMM and FEL at a wonderful local dealer, and finding no NH dealer in the area willing to talk about more than a few percent discount, I called Theros Equipment in VA (Thanks, BillH!) and got what seems to be a darned good deal:

TC25D, HST, SuperSteer, Turf Tires, FEL (7308), and 60" MMM, $17,500. Delivered to Illinois, about $650 more.

Anybody know whether the MMM is shaft-driven or belt driven? I assume shaft, but don't know.

Comments? Sound good? The checkbook is out, going once, going twice, ...

Jim,

Based on pricing that I remember from a year ago that price is very good. While you are shopping be sure to think about shop manuals, rear hydraulic valve(s), HD bucket on FEL, cutting edge and/or toothbar. Its alot cheaper now.

OK, I admit it, I'm a city slicker moving into a rural area. I get what hydraulic valves do, but what might I use rear hydraulic valves for?

OK... The price looks great... But you'll want to consider the potential need for any after sale support. This could include additional options purchases or warranty repairs. Your local NH dealer might not be too keen to provide you with very good support on a machine that he did not sell you. Just a suggestion - try waving the VA quote in front of your NH dealer's nose... he might bite. Also... not sure where in IL you live, but there used to be a fairly "friendly" NH dealer in Morton, IL (just east of Peoria).

Thanks for the reply. To tell you the truth, the local dealer was $3000 over this price, and that didn't count tax. I don't mind the dealer making a fair profit, but it was a little unnerving to be quoted such a price. To tell the truth, I don't feel comfortable with the prospect of going to this dealer for post-warranty work or implements - whether or not I buy the tractor from him. In the end, I just don't trust someone who thinks it is OK to make such a large profit - one so out of sync with profits in the rest of the market. I'll take my chances without him.

As for warranty work, he's an authorized NH dealer. Enough said!

he may be an authorized NH dealer but if you have a warranty problem you will have fun getting him to make it a priority if you do not buy it from him. You may also want to think about this there is nothing corporate NH can do to make him any quicker to help you out either.

Jim, I first called it "Hydraulic Tip 'N Tilt" but later learned that apparently the correct terminology (according to the manufacturers) is "Top 'N Tilt". It means replacing the manually adjustable top link on the 3-point hitch, and one (or both) of the side links with hydraulic cylinders so you can change the angle of implements such as blades on the fly from the driver's seat. I've attached the picture of mine again.
