I have a TC 29 DA with a manual tranny that has a very nasty squeal in, I think, the trans. At about 1000 to 1800 RPM or so, all of a sudden it starts and can be heard a ways away. Very annoying and sounds like a dry bearing.
Won't do it in neutral, changes tone slightly when reved up and is set off with engine RPM, definately related to engine RPM and not ground speed, any gear, PTO on or off no difference. I can run the backhoe for hours and not hear it but if I drive along it starts. A couple hundred hours ago it was a little occasional chirp, now it's getting serious.
Tractor has about 350 hours on it and this is getting worse. I checked the tranny oil and it's full, so is the hydraulic oil that is checked dwith the dipstick behind the seat. It looks like the tranny is in two sections and share the oil, is this right?
I'm wondering if there is a weak bearing in the tranny that others have had to fix? Any ideas?
