So The good news is that after the change to Tractor supply oil, it did not foam and I ran it pretty hard, The bad news is my splitter and backhoe still have that crap in it and I did the front Diff and pumpkins with it also. Like I stated before I think my splitter had a cylinder full of afterbirth, seems right after that is when I noticed the change in sound of the pumps. The splitter I noticed had the cylinder extended and it sat for like 2 years outside...lots of freezing and cooling..as I get older I find myself not taking care of my stuff like I should...Too much stuff.

I'll tell you something stupid I did once, I had put used motor oil in an empty 5gal hydraulic fluid container. I didn't label it and didn't get over to the recycler with it, so 6 months later I accidentally put about 2 gal of it into the reservoir on a boom lift that I had replaced some hoses on. I kept looking at this fluid as I was pumping it, thinking it looked really dark, then it finally dawned on me what I was doing. Fortunately I didn't start the machine, so I only had to pump out the reservoir.

That thought has crossed my mind but I checked and I used the correct bucket, I did one time start to dump a mix of chainsaw mix in my washer fluid container in my truck, good thing i got a whiff of it before a lot went in.

I made a hydraulic fitting that fits onto the return hose of an implement and is just an open fitting, so when I want to purge the oil from the hoses on that implement I put this adapter on and dump the oil into a bucket until I see the oil change color. I have a post pounder that holds a lot of oil in the hoses and large cylinder, and I share it with a neighbor who has a JD. I didn't want to mix hydraulic fluid so I always purge it after we use it on his tractor.

Good idea, My Backhoe runs off the rear remote, Just need to figure out the return line, I do not think I could dead head any circuit by doing it that way, The relief valve is in the remote so should be no issues.
