TC-30 won\'t start!
Fellow TBN'ers, Yesterday I could not start my brand, spanking new TC-30. I got it tuesday evening and drove it that night and the next morning. After it sat idle for a few hours I went to start it up again and "Nothing"! The panel lights worked, the headlights and taillights worked, but no power to the starter, not even a "click". Checked tractor in neutral, brake on, PTO not engaged (why should it be, I didn't use it?) I checked the seat switch wires, the fuse wire to the starter and then crawled underneath to check the PTO wires and there was the problem. The mid-PTO showed that it was engaged! How'd that happen? Maybe when I climbed out of the seat I inadvertently engaged it. Pushing down on the lever engages the PTO, pulling it up disengaes the PTO but the decal near the lever showed just the opposite! Solution; disengage mid-PTO, reverse the decal and start engine!
Fellow TBN'ers, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for posting to TBN. I have learned a great deal from all of you (like possible solutions to the above little problem) and I know that I will continue to use TBN as a primary source for information on CUT's .
sincerely,
