That changes everything. Wet sand is super heavy. You're better off backing off a little on the load. Smaller loads at a quick steady rate are usually faster than struggling to always get a maximum load.

Wow! That's a lot of sand you moved, I'm only into my creek about 35 ft. and I removed about 10 ton of sand. You must have one big sand pile somewhere! We had rain here(finally) this week and I don't think I can get back into my creek until next dry season. Thanks for the pix and the great info!

Here's my little sand pile. It's still growing and I'm constantly taking sand to use or give away. Everytime it rains hard, I just drive down into the creek bottom after it dries out and move 3 or 4 more yards of sand that has silted in. It's a perpetual supply it seems. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
