TC 33D hydro problem alert

No, the engine was not running. I checked them to see if they have ever leaked. There was no sign that they have ever leaked. I will watch them often when I start using my tractor again.

You have to check them when the tractor is running so the hoses are under pressure. That's when it's easiest to see if they are starting to crack. Mine looked fine when the engine was off.

OK, I see what you are saying now. I will get it hot and take a look again. I would think that you could buy better hose from an auto parts supply house somewhere?

The problem is that these hoses are high pressure hydraulic hoses. It would be easy enough to replace if the hose was straight, but the 90 degree turn will kink hydraulic hose.

The best suggestion I've seen is to put a series of nylon cable ties around the hose, preventing expansion.

How about wrapping the hose with fiber-reinforced packaging tape. The tape is narrow enough to wrap the right-angle hoses without to much creasing of the tape and that stuff is virtually unbreakeable. The 3/4" wide version should work very well.

There is a place that I buy my hydraulic hoses from, he custom makes each hose with ends while I wait, I bet he has something.

This isn't a hydro.. or a boomer.. but I just looked under the front nose-hood of my NH 7610s, and it has an oil cooler as well. Instead of right angle bends, the dealer installed longer hoses, and makes a coil if you will.. so the right angle turn is made up with a 'loop' of hose. Seems to be working good. Hose looks to be pretty stiff.. at least 2 wire.

I think murph (thcri) did this until he could get the 90 degree hoses from his NH dealer. Perhaps this is a better solution.
