TC-40D Finally Arrived Ready For Action

Well the wait is over. Our TC-40D was finally delivered this past Wed. by the dealer. For the past 2 days I have done some serious playing. I have moved some dirt with both ends of the tractor and I am really impressed with the machine. The SuperSteer is a piece of work in itself. This baby can turn on a dime.

I came off of a 25 HP 4 WD 8 speed Bison. Do I miss the clutch and the shifting? Well I'll put it this way it's like a vacation not needing to use them. Once you learn the power curve on range 1 & 2 and know what you can do in the turtle/rabbit positions the rest comes natural like. Electronic shifts with your thumb on the joystick is a scream.

You're right about those Ohio winters. I hook up to a 60" snowblower and make short work of the white powder.

If you need any graphics Kinko's will custom make them for you . They are very reasonable, we have used them for our company logos for years.

That's a very nice looking setup. You certainly have almost all the "bells and whistles" on your tractor. Have you calculated the total weight with the backhoe and wheel weights? I'll bet it's somewhere around 8k lb. If you are hauling it, you'll have to be sure you have the right equipment or it will end up pushing you down the road. My guess is with the trailer weight added, you will surely be around 10k lb, and that's a big load for any 3/4 ton or 1 ton pickup. I'm just mentioning that because I'll bet you soon run out of projects on your 6 acres and you'll "get the itch" to haul it somewhere else to do some chores. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I figure that sooner or later I will be needing to get it to the dealer but I can easily split off the FEL & backhoe for that. Then I only have the tractor base weight 3497 + the wheel weights of 600 pounds or a total of 4097 pounds. Not to bad.

I'm not sure why you would need the extra 950lbs of weight. I've found that if I get a full bucket of moist dirt in my bucket that I can just barley lift with the FEL, my rears are a bit light but not too the point of flipping over.

Now if you on a slope with that kind of weight in the bucket it might be a different story. What is it you'll be hauling to max out the FEL capacity like that?

Gary the weights are needed for the pallet forks. We have trucks running in here to be unloaded. Most of the time a pallet will weigh about 900 or so pounds. The weight on the tires and 3-point weight bar make the load more manageable until I can set it on the ground. Don't always have the room to keep the backhoe on the tractor when I am maneuvering.
