TC 40DA vs TC 45DA (5 more HP)

( I looked at the specs on the 40D vs 45D. Does anyone know why the 40D weighs 3433 and the 45D weighs 3738??? Why 300 # more?

Well, I looked at the specs file (PDF) on the NH web page. It says 300# weight difference, but the brochure I got at the NH dealer says 80# difference. I may have made an error, but I am not sure if the online brochure has a typo or what. 80# difference between 40D and 45D makes more sense, if just allowing for engine difference.

Some options to think about that I am slowly adding to mine - Block heater, extra set of rear remote hydraulic connections (for operating a hydraulic 3 point hitch top link), grille guard. That's a nice list of implements. Make sure you post some pictures when you get the new toy. Best of luck.

Bob, I checked all my old specs on the two tractors (mine is a 2001) and the difference in weight listed is about 70 lb. I'm not sure why there is such a difference in the numbers you found. That sounds more like the difference between the gear and hydro tractor. I can believe 70 lb if I stretch it, but 300 lb is a lot of weight for a slightly larger cylinder displacement. I'd sure be curious how they came up with that. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's the same pressure relief valve, but recently someone pointed out to me that there are differences in the differential on the TC35D. It has some parts that are smaller than it's larger siblings, the TC40/45DA. So I think the TC40DA is a worthwhile step up, but the TC45DA is not that much more tractor.

We just went through the same comparison as you. After lots of research & listening to what Jinman had to say we went w/the 40DA & have not regretted it one bit. I'd highly recommend the delux joystick either way you go. The ability to switch from lo to hi is extremely easy since the controls are on the FEL joystick where I usually rest my right hand anyway. Like has already been said, the $2K saved going w/the 40 can be saved or spent on other attachments.

Thanks! I thought all of the 40DA came with the deluxe joystick? Is this a feature that is an option? Tell me more!!!!!!
