Have you tried forcing air into the fuel line behind the filter? If not, take a needle nose air gun and pump air into the line until you hear the fuel tank gurggle several seconds...youll have to be quick to place the line back on the filter, it will spew forcefully, and make sure the fuel fill cap is on tight too on the fuel tank. This will pressurize the system.

I think there is a plunger???? in the injector pump. It's what the fuel solenoid actuates for fuel flow,sometimes it gets jammed and is usually freed up by inserting a rod in the solenoid hole and freeing it up. It's been a while since I've seen that problem but I think that's what solved it. Could have been a magnetic probe used to pull it though........ :eek: can't remember for certain.

Jinman No ill will was intended it was completely all in fun. I do appreciate all the advice I recieve from the members and recognize that many are dealers, mechanics and service men and women at our local shops. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I've attached a page from the repair manual to give you some insight. If the problem is internal to the injection pump this may help you or others in the diagnosis. If #5 is hanging up or stuck for any reason you would not be drawing fuel into the plunger barrel so fuel delivery would be fubar. Hope it helps.

Everything is finally fixed. What it turned out to be was a broken spring inside the throttle linkage. I removed the injector pump and had a local shop run the rack and everything was within specs. I kept digging and found that the return spring behind the pump that is connected to the linkage was somewhat sprung. Working with a mirror and small tools almost totally blind I was able to remove and replace the spring. Now the throttle linkage returns and allows the rack on the pump open and close correctly. With a bad spring the rack was not fully opening once the solenoid was activated and the throttle open, mimicking a fuel flow problem. Thanks to all who helped.

Now that's a unique problem I don't believe has ever been reported before. Glad you got it going.:)
